Portugal’s Residence Permit Program (ARI) was set up in 2012. It offers non-EU/EEA nationals and their families a unique five-year residency program. The residency permit entitles the holder to live, work, and study in Portugal, as well as access to free healthcare and free movement within the Schengen Area of Europe. Furthermore, the program only requires an average of seven days of stay in Portugal every year for the duration of the program to qualify for Portuguese citizenship after five years.

How to Apply and Obtain Portugal Residence

- The documents will be submitted to the Citizenship Unit of the government of Portugal for due diligence.
